Christmas is JUST around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited! Looking for a low FODMAP contribution to a Christmas platter? Look no further than our collection of colourful and delicious Christmas dips.
Baba Ganoush
Recipe from FreeFOD – see original recipe here
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons FreeFOD garlic replacer
- 2 small eggplants
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 2 tablespoons tahini paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- salt to taste
- paprika to serve
- pine nuts to serve
Method:
- Roast whole eggplants for 20-30 minutes at 180 degrees celcius
- Cut eggplants in half and scoop out the flesh
- Process the garlic replacer, eggplant, juice of lemon, tahini, cumin and salt in a food processor until smooth
- Serve with paprika and pine nuts sprinkled on top

Basil Pesto
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh basil
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup garlic infused olive oil
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth
Beetroot Dip
Ingredients:
- 400g tinned beetroot
- 1 cup Greek yogurt or lactose free plain yogurt
- juice of 1/2 lime
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Chop beetroot finely
- Chop parsley finely
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together
